GOP lawmakers are demanding that Anthony “America’s Doctor” Fauci immediately be removed from his post as chief medical adviser to the Biden administration and Director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
The calls for his removal come as the embattled immunologist made a series of blunders, miscalculations, and contradicting statements which resulted in near-economic collapse and the loss of numerous lives worldwide.
Republican Rep. Warren Davidson introduced the “FIRED Act,” which stands for “Fauci Incompetence Requires Early Dismissal.”

The bill would limit all future Directors of NIAID to a 12-year term limit, a post since Fauci has held since the early 1980s.
Since the start of #COVID19 pandemic, Dr. Fauci has cared more about the political science than the actual science. It’s time for him to go: https://t.co/W51oEop7tV

Davidson’s Republican colleagues are voicing their support for the bill and their disapproval of Fauci’s work in handling the coronavirus pandemic.

Numerous controversies have fallen upon Dr. Fauci’s lap recently. It was just revealed that the NIAID, under his tutelage, provided over $600,000 in taxpayer dollars to the Wuhan Institute of Virology – the lab rumored to be the originator of COVID-19. He maintains that funding provided to the lab was never intended to be allocated for certain types of research, instead used to study the risk of coronavirus in bats potentially mutating and transmitting it to humans.
The funding was delivered through an umbrella corporation, EcoHealth Alliance.
Fauci is the long-serving Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who also played a key role in Former President Donald Trump’s Coronavirus Task Force, though the two have fallen out of favor. He now serves as Biden’s chief medical adviser on COVID-19 and other health-related issues.
