Former President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order in May 2020 preventing Big Tech from overly-censoring its users based on ideology. Trump’s order aimed to hold Twitter, Facebook, Google, among others responsible for the content posted to their platforms.
Joe Biden just revoked that order.
Section 230 states:
“an internet provider will be exposed to liability like any traditional editor and publisher that is not an online provider.”
No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be held liable on account of any action voluntarily taken in good faith to restrict access to or availability of material that the provider or user considers to be obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, whether or not such material is constitutionally protected.
The use “otherwise objectionable” has allowed Big Tech Giants like Google, Facebook, and Twitter to censor content from users they “otherwise objectionable.”
In other words, Big Tech can eliminate Conservative content because it does not align with their ideological bent. The globalist liberals heading the social media platforms have routinely targeted conservatives and, thanks to Biden’s revocation of Trump’s order, they now have the green light.
